Jitoku was a famous Zen monk, lived in 8th centuryTang dyansty China. 
 He disliked secular society and became a Zen monk at the Kanzanji temple.
 He had been cleaning up the temple with a broom every day.
 So, he often is dipicted with a broom.
 He was getting along with coleague "Kanzan"
 "Kanzan Jitoku" is a popular theme in ink paintings.
